6 Starter Pack (Ver 4) Introduction to Systems Design

$40.00

This pack of 6 Electronics kits is designed to introduce students to electronics and demonstrate how some simple modules can be incorporated in more complex Systems Designs. These kits offer Students the ability to practice basic soldering skills before moving on to recognizing components and then assembling individual kits. Students finish with a series of interesting modules which lend themselves to usage in more complex Systems applications. Our suggested order for introducing the kits is:
1)  Soldering Trainer  Kit                     2)  FK109 (2 LED Flasher).
3)  FK233 (Wailing Siren).                   4)  FK908 (Soil Moisture Indicator)
5)  FK401 (Light Detection Relay)       6)  FK602 (2 Watt Audio Amp – Mono)

Description

These 6 kits offer a rapid path of first learning and practicing basic soldering skills, before moving onto assembling a series of working modules. The finished kits are easily incorporated into a variety of  larger and more complex systems designs.

A very detailed set of construction guides with step-by-step photos are also available for free.  Just write and ask us for your free copy via  email.

Consists of 6 electronics kits to be assembled:
• Start with the “Soldering Trainer Kit” to learn, practice and improve your soldering skills.
A dedicated YouTube tutorial (less than 8 minutes) for this kit is available at
https://youtu.be/8pJK4TxPU00
• FK109 is a fun kit to build which is a 2 LED flasher with adjustable flashing rate.
–  For a Demonstration and some applications ideas please see our YouTube
video    https://youtu.be/6WZ5yN-ifQs
–  For detailed Construction guide of this kit, please see our Tutorial Video at

• FK233 is a siren similar to many alarms.
Teacher notes available for this kit lead onto thinking about different component values and
introduce concepts of using basic mathematics to predict frequency and timing.
(They introduce the principles of an RC oscillator and suggest some extension
activities of testing with different values to hear what happens).

  • FK908 is a novel “soil moisture” indicator which has proven very popular with young
gardeners  (And the Teachers of Young Gardeners too).
For an introductory video on this kit, please visit   https://youtu.be/Cxv8Ijx847g
  • FK401 is a Light Detection Relay which has found its way in to hundreds of different systems
which need a light sensor to turn on power when light is first detected. (Examples include
dawn detection for agriculture, light or “door open”  alarms for security applications, etc.)
This kit is designed to work with a 12V DC supply.
  • FK602 is an electronic Dice which demonstrates the use of an oscillator, a decade counter,
Diodes and LEDs to achieve this interesting application.   Many Teachers have then used
this completed module in other novel class activities.

Detailed  construction guides with step-by-step photos available to teachers upon request.

Most kits operate from a 9V battery. The FK401 is designed to operate with a 12V DC supply.
